ASH WEDNESDAY: A CHURCH-WIDE CALL TO PRAYER

Read Matthew 6: 1-6, 16-21 and Psalm 51.  David prayed for a clean heart and a new and right spirit within. He prayed for a new beginning. As we prepare to make a sort of "new beginning" as a church, where is God telling you that God wants to make a new beginning in your life? What are the barriers in the way of that new beginning? Lay them before God. After listening to God through Scripture, what are you being led to give up and take on for Lent?  Go to worship tonight as an act of prayer and commitment to this time of preparation.
